A beautiful country full of culture, beautiful beaches, and of course home of the famous Full Moon Party, Thailand is an overall great place for people of all ages. When people ask me where my favorite place was in Southeast Asia I can’t help but think about Thailand and its beauty and culture.

Getting Around
I flew from Bali into Krabi for entry and mainly traveled by ferry and plane to and from the islands. We worked our way around and up from Krabi finishing our month in Chiang Mai. Here’s a breakdown of our routing and cost to get to and from islands and cities:
- Bali – Krabi: Air Asia – $223
- Krabi – Koh Lanta – Phi Phi – Phuket: Ferry – $10 one way
- Phuket – Koh Samui: Bangkok Airways – $125
- Koh Samui – Koh Phangan – Koh Samui: Ferry – $50 roundtrip
- Koh Samui – Bankgok: Bangkok Airways – $186
- Bangkok – Chiang Mai: Thai Airways – $51
I do have to say I am extremely impressed with Thai airlines and overall the ferries are spacious and decent with A/C. On the flights they provide full meals when flights are only 1 hour max. Huge plus!
One form of transportation that is extremely popular among tourists are the tuk-tuks. There are cabs however the tuk-tuks are cheaper and more fun, obviously! It’s all a part of the culture so I highly recommend you get around in these little guys. Just be aware they are pretty small so maybe not the best means of getting to and from the airport with all your bags, but its possible and also comical.

Time of year
We traveled for a total of 30 days during the month of January. The weather overall was warm and humid and its considered winter during this time of year. Extremely comfortable temperatures but we did hear of some pretty bad storms around the islands but we got lucky and just missed them!
