The first thing that comes to mind when I think about Cambodia is temples, temples, and more temples. Siem Reap is one of the more popular destinations to see the famous Angkor Wat in addition to several other temples which you can spend days exploring. This was by far one of the highlights to this country, however there were so many other things I learned that really opened my eyes to what these people have gone through which is a huge testament towards the kind of country this place is.

Getting Around
Siem Reap and Phnom Penh will be your most common airports you can fly into. We spent all of our time within Cambodia flying, however there are buses that transfer you from city to city or even across borders. Here is a breakdown of our travel:
- Vientiane – Siem Reap: Lao Airlines – $200
- Siem Reap – Phnom Penh: Bassaka Airlines – $50
Upon arrival the best way to get around is via cab. The airport is just a short distance from the city center, should take you no longer than 20 minutes.

Time of Year
We spent about a total of 2 weeks traveling in Cambodia at the end of February and I remember it being a scorcher during the day with very comfortable temperatures at night. Make sure to bring plenty of water with you while visiting the temples because you must stay hydrated!
